If you remember back to this post, I had asked for some help with picking fabrics for a quilt I wanted to make for my daughters room. Well, I really wanted to use this fabric, but a few weeks back, I really had the itch to sew while hubby was out playing ball, so I pulled out the only fabric I had…

which is what I had left over from making this bag. These are Amy Butler fabrics for anything who doesn’t know.
So I started on the quilt with this fabric. I decided that eventually I want to change up my daughters room anyways, because our current residence is only temporary. And I need to learn how to make the quilt as it is. I know how to do the front and back sides, but I’m a little unsure of the batting/binding situation. Anyone able to offer help there?
Anyhow, I just wanted a simple quilt with strips of fabric put together, so I started by cutting my strips.

and then laid them all out in the order in which I was going to sew them.

Then I started sewing the each strip together 1 by 1.

And ironing after each strip was sew together.

Viola. The entire front is all sew together.

My back is going to be solid pink, but will have sewn stripes through it. So my next step is to figure out how to do my batting.
